I didn't noticed that before, but it's the name of the computer I was on at the time I made the theme.
I will edit it to just say "Welcome" when I get the time, thanks for notifying me. - Sep 30 2010

Thanks alot for that.
One more thing: how do you define the colour of the focus ?
I know it's related to selected_fg_color but isn't there a way to set it independently ? - Mar 20 2009
How do you achieve this coloured button focus ?
The default Murrine engine button focus is a dark line underlining the text inside a button, and it's ugly, but your coloured focus is cool.
Can you enlight me please ? - Mar 20 2009

These one are good !!
I have a favor to ask: would you please make a Debian transparent "banner" like the one you made for Ubuntu in the GDM theme package ?
That way I think I will do my own custom GDM theme by using your transparent wallpaper with the colour of my GTK theme (I have modified your GTK theme too :-p).

Thanks. - Apr 27 2008

I'm already using 1.1 for the reasons I said (unfortunately).
Hey, thanks for the good job nonetheless !! - Aug 30 2007
That's one really good theme, thanks.

However I think there's still room for little "improvements".
How about removing the little "debian" text at the bottom of the wallpaper ? I realy think having "debian" two times on the theme kinda ruins it a bit...
And the tango icons used on the 1.1 version were cleaner, better, than the icon theme you're using now in this version...

Of course you can just released an alternative version of 1.2 with these changes, for people who would prefer one or another.

Sorry but I have to disappoint you. I'm not the author of the Bumpy Human Black gdm theme: credit must go to Greeface for that one, and if you want answers you should try to ask him.
I tried myself however with Gimp, without sucess, and it made me doubt the wallpaper was made with Gimp in the first place. Don't know if Greeface is still online around here, but you can try to ask him... - Jul 25 2007
Thanks very much Ernz !! It wasn't necessary to call it like that, but it's funny... - Jul 24 2007
I'm sorry my feedback was a little confusing. As for the "guidelines" thing, I was just trying to say that this greeter goes well with the new Ubuntu startup splash logo, you know, rounded, glossy and stuff...

So what I would like to see is a version with a "bumpy" (rough) black background, not smooth, just like the Bumpy Human Black gdm theme I posted the link to (by the way, you can just re-use that theme background to adapt it...).
I hope I was clear this time, and thank you for your help !! - Jul 23 2007
This greeter is really nice and up to date with the new ubuntu logo "guidelines".
Is it possible to have a black version like that old one but with your theme improvements (logo + icons + etc...) please ? - Jul 22 2007

What about an alternate version with Tangerine folders style instead of the Tango folders style ? Tango one are blue, Tangerine is orange and is pretty much used too IMHO. - Apr 28 2007
Yes, I noticed this too.
I disabled "close tab button on all tabs" and I have only the close button on the active tab for now (using Tab Mix Plus extension), until the bug is fixed. - Apr 28 2007

I have found the source of the graphical bug: it appears if you select "flat highlight" glaze style, but not with the other glaze styles.

I don't know whether it comes from a bug in the engine or the theme itself...
By the way, the "squarestyle" (line 56) option seems not to be supported, in Gnome at least... Did you intentionally put it in the theme or is it a mistake ? - Apr 18 2007
Any ideas about this curious graphical bug ? - Apr 08 2007

Sorry... - Mar 28 2007
I think I found a strange bug while using the theme. I don't know whether it might come from the theme itself or murrine engine... Please have a look at the location bar on the pictures below, the "L3" and "L2" problem show the drawing bug.

Is it possible to have a version with white background for text applications like text editors, Open Office....

The balck theme is very stylish, but it's somewhat difficult to use grey fonts on black background in text editing applications. - Jan 15 2007
Please do not forget to give the link to your wallpaper please ;-) - Nov 20 2006
Just did it myself, changed:
base[SELECTED] = "#707070"
base[SELECTED] = "#2c2c2c".

Also I revert the scrollbar color to #232323, as #252525 was a bit too light IMOH...

Thanks for the great theme ! - Nov 20 2006
I'm using this neat theme on Gnome desktop... Prior to the insensitive text fix, the selection rectangle was black on my's gray now, not white but really gray I assume... I prefered it when it was black. If there's a way to fix it... - Nov 20 2006
What about giving a link to the wallpaper, so that everybody can get it, and not just one person ? I like it too.... - Nov 20 2006
I think there's a problem with insensitive text in Firefox. Although the the "Stop" insensitive text seems to appear in your Swiftfox screenshot, it does not appear at all in Firefox... That line is still totally black, as if there was a missing entry !!

That goes for all the insensitive text in all Firefox's menus (Edit, View, Go, Bookmarks...).
Please fix it. - Nov 19 2006

I pretty much like it in fact, the black tone does match with Murrina-black theme.

However the splash size is way too big if you ask me, you should reduce it by a third or even a half of its current size... I think it would be much better... - Oct 23 2006

Thumb up ! Your splash is finally very clean, I'm using it with an "all black" themed desktop, and it absolutely contribute to the "rocking feel".

Thanks a lot !! - Oct 20 2006
Make the text disappear or show it all ?
Just take one side and go for it !
I think both ideas are good, and they're surely way better than "only a vertical-half is displayed".

If you chose to hide the text I think you should reduce the image height by a few millimeters at the top and the bottom so it won't appear on the splash even if the system still "genrates" it (will it ?). - Oct 18 2006
There's a little problem with the splash. The image file is not "big" enough to let the text appears clearly during boot. For instance during Nautilus launch, you can clearly see the icon but "Nautilus" text is cut in its middle height, only the half upper part of the text is readable...

Great job otherwise ! - Oct 18 2006

This theme is just get getting better with every new release...

Why do you put gray stripes at the end of Comboxes/MenuOption and scrollbars ? I think it kinda sucks...not very stylish...

But the tabs design does ROCK, don't change it ! - Sep 16 2006
Too bad for the panel applet BG...
Thnaks though, for all the hard work :-) - Sep 14 2006
Where is the separator line icon ? I see none, and so there's no separator line icon (a simple vertical line) associated with the panel applet. - Sep 14 2006
I forgot.
Here are some screenshots of the differences of applet integration in the panels (Clearlooks vs Carbonit).
Is it possible to have that line separating "Places" and "Bookmark Folders" in the sidebar in your theme too ?

Going to rock, going to rock soon... :-) - Sep 14 2006
Thank you very much, you fix many things with this update.

Just one thing:
Look at Network Monitor applet in the top panel. The applet background color doesn't match with the panel color...
I think it's related to the theme, since I don't have this problem with other themes.

Oh, by the way, Cimi's advices were good indeed; there has always been some things that bother me, but I just couldn't put words on what they were exactly...cimi just did... - Sep 14 2006
Sure ! Take a close look at the top panel and each applet.... - Sep 13 2006
Still need some real improvements.
You should try to use your theme with Metacity, create a panel with some applets like Deskbar and Network Monitor in it... You'll immediatly see what I mean when saying that you should use an efficient engine for polish...these kind of applet just do not integer well with the theme... - Sep 13 2006
By the way, which set of icons do you use ? They're pretty good too... - Sep 10 2006
Oh come on, what a shame there's no Metacity engine for your themes (I tried NovumOS too) to base on...

The top and bottom panels look ugly in Gnome due to some applets that are not integrated due to the lack of efficient engine...

Otherwise the choice of colors and design seem very good...what about a real ENGINE that will rocket your job through space ? ;-) - Sep 10 2006

I think there's something strange on this one: the minimise button seems not to be completely "drawn". The little square that represent the button is not closed, there's no right border... Was it intended ?
By the way, how can I disable that line that is above each currently selected tab in Firefox ?

And thanks very much for your great themes; my last one was Brushed, I used it for a very long time, but now is time for the change, and this new one is HELL FAST !! Congrats... - Aug 31 2006

I like your wallpaper.

It would be good to have hi-res versions (1280 and 1600) with no "startbar like" at the bottom; no "documents, internet, mail" pictures, just the wallpaper and the sentence at the bottom would be even more sleek. - Jun 26 2006

The theme is great, the shiny black you use is perfect.
I think you should put some "background" behind each icon of Gnome's top and bottom panels though.
As it looks now, the icons on the panels doesn't seem to integrate well with you theme. Try a theme like Brushed, and look at the difference with yours, I'm sure you'll understand what I'm talking about.

You got it dude, the new (focus/unfocus) is what I was waiting fo !!

There is something strange in 0.9 version: is the new Maximized State normal ?
I mean, the windows round corners disappeared and the windows seem to be crop at the left and right edges...
- Nov 30 2005
What I mean is why did make the unfocus border so grey ? It is true that the colour should be different, but the white was cool, grey is a little too much IMO... - Nov 20 2005
"change border whit trasparency."

Do you mean the grey color on the unfocused border is the transparency thing ?
I think that was not a very good choice of color. You should better use a "more white than grey" color for unfocused border...IMHO...

Great job for the other changes nevertheless !!! - Nov 19 2005
