One more thing: how do you define the colour of the focus ?
I know it's related to selected_fg_color but isn't there a way to set it independently ? - Mar 20 2009

The default Murrine engine button focus is a dark line underlining the text inside a button, and it's ugly, but your coloured focus is cool.
Can you enlight me please ? - Mar 20 2009

I have a favor to ask: would you please make a Debian transparent "banner" like the one you made for Ubuntu in the GDM theme package ?
That way I think I will do my own custom GDM theme by using your transparent wallpaper with the colour of my GTK theme (I have modified your GTK theme too :-p).
Thanks. - Apr 27 2008

However I think there's still room for little "improvements".
How about removing the little "debian" text at the bottom of the wallpaper ? I realy think having "debian" two times on the theme kinda ruins it a bit...
And the tango icons used on the 1.1 version were cleaner, better, than the icon theme you're using now in this version...
Of course you can just released an alternative version of 1.2 with these changes, for people who would prefer one or another.

I tried myself however with Gimp, without sucess, and it made me doubt the wallpaper was made with Gimp in the first place. Don't know if Greeface is still online around here, but you can try to ask him... - Jul 25 2007

So what I would like to see is a version with a "bumpy" (rough) black background, not smooth, just like the Bumpy Human Black gdm theme I posted the link to (by the way, you can just re-use that theme background to adapt it...).
I hope I was clear this time, and thank you for your help !! - Jul 23 2007

Is it possible to have a black version like that old one but with your theme improvements (logo + icons + etc...) please ?

I disabled "close tab button on all tabs" and I have only the close button on the active tab for now (using Tab Mix Plus extension), until the bug is fixed. - Apr 28 2007

I don't know whether it comes from a bug in the engine or the theme itself...
By the way, the "squarestyle" (line 56) option seems not to be supported, in Gnome at least... Did you intentionally put it in the theme or is it a mistake ? - Apr 18 2007

to

Also I revert the scrollbar color to #232323, as #252525 was a bit too light IMOH...
Thanks for the great theme ! - Nov 20 2006

However the splash size is way too big if you ask me, you should reduce it by a third or even a half of its current size... I think it would be much better... - Oct 23 2006

Just take one side and go for it !
I think both ideas are good, and they're surely way better than "only a vertical-half is displayed".
If you chose to hide the text I think you should reduce the image height by a few millimeters at the top and the bottom so it won't appear on the splash even if the system still "genrates" it (will it ?). - Oct 18 2006

Here are some screenshots of the differences of applet integration in the panels (Clearlooks vs Carbonit).
Is it possible to have that line separating "Places" and "Bookmark Folders" in the sidebar in your theme too ?
Carbonit:

Going to rock, going to rock soon... :-) - Sep 14 2006
Just one thing:
Look at Network Monitor applet in the top panel. The applet background color doesn't match with the panel color...
I think it's related to the theme, since I don't have this problem with other themes.
Oh, by the way, Cimi's advices were good indeed; there has always been some things that bother me, but I just couldn't put words on what they were exactly...cimi just did... - Sep 14 2006
You should try to use your theme with Metacity, create a panel with some applets like Deskbar and Network Monitor in it... You'll immediatly see what I mean when saying that you should use an efficient engine for polish...these kind of applet just do not integer well with the theme... - Sep 13 2006
The top and bottom panels look ugly in Gnome due to some applets that are not integrated due to the lack of efficient engine...
Otherwise the choice of colors and design seem very good...what about a real ENGINE that will rocket your job through space ? ;-) - Sep 10 2006

And thanks very much for your great themes; my last one was Brushed, I used it for a very long time, but now is time for the change, and this new one is HELL FAST !! Congrats... - Aug 31 2006

Wallpapers Ubuntu by paullinux 1 comment
It would be good to have hi-res versions (1280 and 1600) with no "startbar like" at the bottom; no "documents, internet, mail" pictures, just the wallpaper and the sentence at the bottom would be even more sleek. - Jun 26 2006
I think you should put some "background" behind each icon of Gnome's top and bottom panels though.
As it looks now, the icons on the panels doesn't seem to integrate well with you theme. Try a theme like Brushed, and look at the difference with yours, I'm sure you'll understand what I'm talking about.
That the only annoying thing I found in this great theme, keep up ! - Mar 26 2006

There is something strange in 0.9 version: is the new Maximized State normal ?
I mean, the windows round corners disappeared and the windows seem to be crop at the left and right edges...

Do you mean the grey color on the unfocused border is the transparency thing ?
I think that was not a very good choice of color. You should better use a "more white than grey" color for unfocused border...IMHO...
Great job for the other changes nevertheless !!! - Nov 19 2005
