Rosegarden Theme

9 excellent. I would like to see the parts (icons, etc.), but it's wonderful to see a nice "wallpaper" type pattern instead of everything sharp & geometric. I'll rate again after I've actually tried it. - Apr 23 2021

9 excellent! Finally! Someone "gets it" - what icons are FOR.

BOTH the Color AND Shape of an icon is to make it meaningful to you - easy to recognize and quick to pick out when you are looking for it.

Icons with a "theme" where they are ALL the same SHAPE *circles, or squares, or ovals, or foxes) or ALL the same, or all so busy & cluttered, that they are meaningless - no point in having icons at all. And toolbar icons that don't light up with color until AFTER you have already searched, found, and put the cursor on it, all with no help from it's color - what's the point of color then - entertainment? It's certainly not to help you find something quickly.

Question: what does a new default folder look like? Hopefully it is a neutral manila folder, or my preference just a vertical line so I know it is a folder, but has no icon to clash with folders I've assigned a special icon to, to stand out, grab my eye, and help me navigate nested menus quickly to my most used places. - Apr 23 2021

I think I got the change made. When I looked at the extracted files, I saw index.theme. It opened in LibreOfcWriter and I changed it there (removed the # from Inherits=breeze) and saved it as .txt in : /tmp/mozilla_ann0/kde-1.1.2-new ICONS/kde-1.1.2-new/.

I reopened it with Kate and it looked okay to me. Now I just have to figure out how to install it. I'm going to click Install and hope the files are found (I used a sub-directory name that I could understand). - Mar 30 2021

Great icons. I'm new to Linux - could you be a little more specific about how to put them to use throughout KDE? I don't know how to find index.theme or what to use to change it. Thank you so much for the help. AnneF - Mar 30 2021

9 excellent Finally! Some decent icons. Win98 and XP had great icons. Since then, people seem to want to "theme" icons, so they are the same shape and colors, like Win10. I use the color AND shape of icons to help me locate something QUICKLY. If they are all more or less alike, why have icons at all? If they don't take on color until AFTER you've already located the object and placed your cursor on it, then what good is the icon color - entertainment??? Thank you for a great set of icons - now if I can just figure out how to make KDE use them throughout (and add a few of my own). Again - thank you. --AnneF - Mar 30 2021
