Hi,
Could one of you please send it to me, too? (Or tell me where to get it).
That would be great.
TIA - Oct 17 2003

There is only thing that looks (IMHO) a litlle bit irritating - the big empty head. Other than that it conveys the idea of a PIM Suite very well, and it looks nice. - Apr 14 2004

You are right, it is ugly :-)

But at the same time it is really funny to see all this stuff wiggle around, and I think one could make a very nice style out of that code. Just as somebody else suggested - something pulsating might be nice. But I assume that it might be hard to produce something that looks good and doesn't disturb you at the same time.
Still, a nice demonstration.
Good luck, if you decide to continue such a style. - Dec 26 2003

Hi,
First of all I want to thank you for this great addition to KDE icon sets. Here are a couple of hints for you (this is not supposed to be a blame but a help in getting you started with kde icons).

1. To inherit icons from other icon sets (if it is not in yours yet) you have to add the following line to your index.desktop file:

Inherits=foldername of icons to inherit
For KDE 3.1 it would look like this:
Inherits=crystalsvg

2. When you do that, the problems with this icon theme become more obvious:
2.1 No 22x22 icons. This is the standard size for all toolbars (so at least the actions folder should be converted).
2.2. No 48x48 icons. These are important for kicker, desktop and a lot of other stuff I do not remember.
2.3 If you are not sure concerning the structure of icons or which sizes you need, just go to /opt/kde/share/icons/ (or where ever it is on your pc) and then compare with the standard icon themes, e.g. hicolor or crystalsvg for kde 3.1.

3. If you want to cut down the size of your package, here are some hints:
3.1 Make the 128x128 folder an extra download. This folder is roughly 4,5 MB and most people do not use it.
3.2 Almost all of your icons are bigger than similar icons in the crystalsvg directory. Why? I haven't found out yet (Are they only bigger because they are a little more complex?) Maybe you could find out.
3.3 If you are accustomed to svg, you can always provide the whole archive as svgs and let kde do the resizing.

Okay, that's about it. Hope that helps a little. Don't stop working on Noia for kde :-), maybe even noia warm for kde.

That's how it works: in your index.desktop file you have to add the following:
Inherits=foldername of icons to inherit, eg. hicolor
For kde 3.1 This would look like this:
Inherits=crystalsvg

I love your icons, just as everybody else does :-).
BTW: Are you also planning on releasing the Noia Warm icon set to us KDE-Users?
Thanks,

I just wanted to tell you that your work is appreciated. Although I like Crystal, it does not yet have Icons for all apps - but this theme almost does. Thank you and keep up the good work.

AFAIK I mean a checked radio button. Again AFAIK with a checkbutton, you can select multiple things. I mean the button, where you can select only one out of many choices and they are usually round and IMHO called radiobuttons.
Michael - Apr 30 2002
You can download the new package, it has the radiobutton, which has a new circle with the right size.
Michael - Apr 29 2002
1. Is anybody interested at all in that radio button ?
2. Do you like it ?
I think the black circle in my radiobutton can be made a little bigger, this is going to happen soon (If just one person tells me, he is using it :-))

I first thought, that it was a standard KDE 3 wallpaper, but now I can't seem to find it in the CVS resources. Maybe it was in KDE 2 - but I can still send it to you, if you want. Just email me: michael.linux@web.de

Holy Moly!
Ca. 20min of work and you guys gave me 89% rating. I expected sth. like 60-75. If you have any wishes (like make a darker version or sth. else) just tell me. I'm going to improve them a little more as a big thank you.

This can be achieved much easier than directly editing the icons. Start the control center aka kcontrol, go to Look & Feel, Icons. Then click on the advanced tab. You'll see three icons at the bottom and a button for each one of them which says: Set Effect. Click on it and voila, there you go:"To Gray" "Colorize" "Gamma" "Desaturate" and more.
Good luck

Funny:
"the icontheme crystal i belonging the conectiva" - sounds a little bit like the infamous "all your bases are belonging to us" (or similar).
And I also thought that the added "ps. we...." sounded a little bit like:
"Oh, as an unimportant sidenote, which I forgot to mention: We're gonna sue you, you ...."
Too bad this is serious and not some kind of joke :-(

ps: Arschl - Apr 18 2002
I don't even know what to say. I think they probably do have the right to force you, but this reaction is a little exagerated, IMHO. Especially since there are other places where you can download crystal (I won't name them, so conectiva will not go after them). It's just sad to see that even in the open source community there are things like that. :-(

Hi Reno
Yes it is possible to do the objprelink stuff with cvs. I've been doing that since 2 months or so - right now I'm running today's CVS with objprelink without any problems. Your mile..... ;-)

I'd love to - but make -f Makefile.cvs tells me the following:
*** Scanning for include statements
./aclocal.m4:2696: error: m4_defn: undefined macro: _m4_divert_diversion
acfunctions.m4:1108: AM_FUNC_OBSTACK is expanded from...
./aclocal.m4:2696: the top level
autoconf: tracing failed
make[1]: *** [cvs] Error 1

I am using aclocal v1.5 - if you want to know further information, just contact me: michael.linux@web.de
