Any idea why? - Apr 05 2005
Open ~/.kde/share/apps/kooldock/menu, and manually change the names of the .desktop files there. They appear on the dock in alphabetical order. Restart the dock, and it'll be in order. - Jan 03 2005

And I don't understand the previous comment...
But wouldn't it be a better idea simply to use the "update" feature, rather than re-submitting slight changes as new wallpapers? - Nov 23 2004

Just a suggestion, I've been searching the net for instructions on how to upgrade Mandrake 10.0 or 10.1 to KDE3.3, but can't find them. Since you obviously know how, a tutorial on your site would both go down well and be a good resource. What do you think> - Nov 22 2004

But Edweirdo, really - Are you English? It's Loch Ness, Loch pronounced like the German ch on ich. Loch means Lake in Scotland - there are actually only two lakes in the whole of Scotland, all the others are called Lochs. I like the idea of Konqui in Loch Ness though - I'd vote it up if you put it here! - Aug 19 2004

I think it's a great picture the way it is. I also know that I'm using Linux, and don't need my wallpaper to remind me of the fact. - Aug 05 2004

Please remember that there are people from ALL walks of life that use this site, and a great many will find this offensive - both the pictures, but just as much the "Oh God..." slogan. The level of rubbish accumulating on this site is not exactly the best advert for Linux. - May 22 2004

It does appear that this has been written for Christian study, so perhaps it would have been better in Education or other software. But since it doesn't clearly fit into any category, give the author a break - it's an important app, which will have a huge uptake with the increasing use of Linux (remember the Bible is by far the best selling book in the world, and always has been. Even if you don't believe in it). - May 18 2004

That said, it's about time someone made a good GPL CAD program for Linux. I hope you manage! If I can help in any way please let me know - probably not so good at the coding side of things, but I do have some basic experience. And would be willing to throw myself at it. - May 12 2004

This has many simple, intuative features. I particularly like the ability to "draw" transparent. Very much filling a space in KDE.
One request is that it would be useful to be able to chose the compression level when saving in .jpg format.
Oh, and nice to see it called "KolourPaint," instead of "KolorPaint!" ;) - May 12 2004

A great improvement would be to make it rotate anti-clockwise when dragged to the right if clicked at the front, and clockwise (like currently) if clicked at the back. Similarly, rotate top-forward if dragged down from the front, and top-back if dragged down from the back.
This quantity of rotation should be scaled dynamically according to the distance of the click from the centre of the screen, so clicking near the centre of the screen would produce a larger rotation for the same drag-length - more accurate rotations would be possible by clicking nearer the edge of the screen. This would create a "grab and drag" type of environment, where you would intuatively know which way the tile you first grabbed would move.
As I said at the start though, the graphics are good, and the rendering is well done. Keep it up! - May 11 2004

Personally, I hardly have any icons on the desktop - I use about 20 programs regularly, of which 17 are in kooldock along the bottom of my screen, on autohide so that they don't clutter the screen, but I can get them whenever I want. I don't have a single program icon on the desktop, as it's too difficult to get to them.
Nice screenshot though! - Apr 24 2004
