Hi,

Would you consider to make a W10 theme with SCSS?

Hi,

I've just seen the shot and l agree: Media Center Edition is way nicer than regular.

To the developer: If you're reluctant to create a Cinn10, please consider a CinnXP MCE. Thanks.

MCE (or Royale, EnergyBlue, whatever its called) won't be that hard. It will only take slightly modified cinnamon, metacity, plus different images in the gtk components...fairly easy

Cinn10 will be a much bigger undertaking, especially considering that I have yet to even touch Win10 since it was released.

Either way, plz be patient, I do this in my spare time :)

How about Cinn7, and an icon pack for CinnXP?

Feren,
Please visit CinnXP on Git (you've might have already; I don't recall). There's a thread on the XP icon pack issue. Or get in touch with Bluedxca93 and/or NikoKrause for guidance on that one.

That's a good idea Feren. I'm just afraid we have overwhelmed the developer. I guess just about anything put after "Cinn" is a good idea.

perhaps try:
Energetic - YlmfOS/XP rience Style

or ask the author

Hi,

to this theme author:
how do you get along with the new scss standard?. maybe you can send me a pm with a little about the resources you used. SCSS is very difficult for me instead of css.Ask cause youre the first one i see using it other than adwaita main theme.

To cinnamoner:
Im thinking this theme targets gtk 3.18 or at least 3.16.
So for a litlle bit "oudated" 3.8-3.14 you might have to use other artwork ( perhaps from one of mines) my cause they will run.
BUT I DO RESPECT THIS AUTORS WORK AND USE IT IF IT RUNS FINE ON YOUR SYSTEM CINNAMONER.
Just anoing that gtk3 themes doesn`t mean all gtk3 versions but thats not the authors fault.
Good artwork keep going.

Feel free to copy the royle blue theme ressources and include it in your opack if you want.

regards bluedxca93.

SCSS is really powerful and allows one to express CSS in a more compact format...pretty sure Adwaita itself has ~10000 lines of CSS (both light and dark) but this requires <5000 lines of SCSS. I personally think it's better organized as well, for instance something like this in CSS:

a {
color: white;
}

a:hover {
color: black;
}

a b {
color: green;
}

can be written in SCSS as:

a {
color: white;
&:hover { color: black; }
b { color: green; }
}

There's also nice things like loops and if/then logic that can be used to further simplify things.

If you want to learn, the guide I used for all this was http://sass-lang.com/guide. My advice would be to start playing with the original Adwaita SCSS (it's cleaner than mine) and see how any changes you make will affect the output (gtk-contained.css and gtk-contained-dark.scss)

I find it rather astonishing that after 100 downloads nobody dropped in to say hello and thank you for this theme. It would be so little effort compared to that of the developer. I've seen work of incomparably smaller magnitude getting more. Probably just temporary paradox. Thank you.

Hi again,

I'm considering to add this theme to my "creme de la creme" collection but I would like to read some opinions first. Bluedxca93, please make a short comment. I'm wondering whether this is the best implementation of an xp theme to date.
And everyone interested: please step in and post your mind. Thank you.

Hi,

Let me tell you that it looks great (I've only seen the screenshots though). It's highly probable that I'll install to check it out thoroughly. Your work is very much appreciated. Thank you.
