I see you have used the same way to try to mimic the sidebar in nautilus as I have done with the Telinkrin theme. Which is, I believe the only way to do that currently in nautilus. However, you run into the same issues as I had:
- resizing the sidebar to the right will show long file-names crossing the vertical separator: for example, create a file with a very long (30 characters, or so) filename and drag it into the sidebar. Then, resizing the sidebar to the right will show you what I mean.
The next issue: some languages (like french) require a wider standard width of the sidebar, because their names haves more characters. I had to set the width to 210px to accomodate that issue.
I've also noticed that you set the width so that when people set the titlebuttons to the right the back-forward-buttons are nicely put to the left of the sidebar. Very well done!
And finally: GTK2 seems to be not done? It still resembles mojave?
Anyway, a good first draft.
I've been busy making a Big Sur theme myself. But the issues I mentioned are a real problem. And personally I feel Big Sur is not an improvement. I , personally still prefer the Catalina-version.
The biggest problem is not having 'Blur'. Mac-os is beautiful because of the extensive use of translucency and blur. But, sadly, this something we can not do in GTK3.
