Latte Dock, amazing piece of software very customizable.
With the possibility of creating both, a top panel and dock, with everything you need to work.
¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬
The new version of macOS, macOS Big Sur, is just around the corner, and it is loaded with many new features; And many of us in the Linux Community want to experience an interface similar to that of macOS Big Sur. With that in mind I have decided to make a Layout for Latte Dock to bring a bit of what's new in macOS BS.
I hope you like it and enjoy it };-]
First of all, you need to install Latte Dock and a few Widgets or Plasmoids, to make it work properly.
¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬
> Installing Latte Dock
Warning: The version needed for these layouts to work properly is the Git version of Latte Doc; This Git version brings extra functions that the normal version does not have, such as floating dock, rounded corners, the Sidebar Widget, etc ...
So in the normal versions of the repositories, non-Git version, these functions will have no effect and the Layout will not work correctly, for this reason it is necessary to install the Git version of Latte Dock.
After researching a few ways to make it easier for you to install the Git version of Latte Dock, I have found some ways, but not for all distros, for example: The Manjaro community has in its AUR repositories a packaged version of the version Git de Latte, in OpenSUSE I have found a package of the Git version of Latte, not so for KDE Neon or Kubuntu, I mean, yes, I have found a package version in ".deb" of the Git version of Latte in Launchpad. net, but it is necessary to install dependencies, which makes the compilation process the most recommended option for the installation of Latte Dock Git Version.
So I will leave instructions for installation in Manjaro KDE and OpensSUSE KDE, and for installation in Kubuntu and KDE Neon I will leave the link for the Latte Dock repository on GitHub where the compilation instructions are.
¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬
> Installation of Latte Dock Git Version in Manjaro
There are two ways to install the Git version of Latte Dock in Manjaro.
1. Doing a search on "Pamac"
Open "Pamac" and do a search for "latte dock git", the results will be two versions, one to install and another to compile, so, choose the version to install, since the compilation way takes a little more time, and it is the second form of installation.
2. Doing a Compilation.
There are two ways to compile install the Git version of Latte Dock.
2.1 Open "Pamac" and do a search for "latte dock git", in the results you will find the option "Build" that will compile the version automatically, which will save you from doing the whole process.
2.2 Go to the GitHub repository of Latte Dock and go to the file "INSTALATION.md" there you will find the necessary dependencies that you must install before starting the compilation process.
¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬
> Installation of the Latte Dock Version Git in OpenSUSE KDE.
I have found a packaged version in a ".rpm" file ready to install just by running a command.
Packaged Latte Dock Git Version for OpenSUSE
Installing ".rpm" files
sudo zypper install name-of-latte-package.rpm
On this page there is also the alternative of adding a repository and installing directly from this added repository, so you can choose what way to use to install Latte Dock git version.
¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬
> For installation on Kubuntu and KDE Neon
In these distros the best way to install Latte Dock is to follow the instructions for compilation and installation of the official Latte Dock repository on GitHub, so, go to the link at the bottom and inside the repository look for the file "INSTALLATION.md" and follow the dependency installation and build instructions.

> Importing Themes
To import the themes into Latte Dock you must run Latte Dock and then right click on any part of the Dock, then "Layouts" and "Manage Layouts", when the window opens look for "Import" click and Search where you have saved your downloaded theme file; now double click on the "In Menu" part, so you have access from the menu without opening the "Manage Layouts" window at any time, and that's all. Now you can enjoy any theme you like.
¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬

Widgets can be also installed with plasmapkg2 command if someone does not want to login to Plasma to install them.

Personally, I prefer to keep my system clean by installing only what belongs to the DE to avoid performance problems
Another problem that I see when doing that is that the vast majority are new Linux users and for them it is a bit difficult and they probably don't have a super machine in which to install a second DE, as I repeat, in my little experience, it is better to have a clean system and use only what belongs to the desktop, Latte is more used in KDE, most widgets are designed for KDE, and installing a large part of KDE on Gnome I find it inefficient.

I installed everything on fresh manjaro install, then updated the OS and latte style broke - everything is flickering and breaking. When i switch to default layout it is ok. I am building latte-dock-git as described. Everything goes back to normal if I switch layout to default or turn off latte-dock. Using latest manjaro KDE with all latest updates. KDE Plasma 5.20.3

First, thank you for your support with your vote.
Second, is there any chance that you forgot to install any of the necessary widgets? Because by not installing a widget, the Latte Dock configuration omits that widget by not finding it, therefore, it eliminates the space, giving a result such as I am imagining in your problem, but I don't want to imagine your problem, because it would only be to suppose what that would be problem; So, I think that with a screenshot it would be easier to know what the problem is, if you are so kind to send me the screen caption, I will gladly review the problem and give a solution.
Thank you for reporting and, again, thank you for your support with your vote.
