I don't get as much transparency as shown in preview. How do I increase it?

Hi passionatelinuxian,

If you apply the instructions correctly, it must be like the screenshots I posted.

I have followed the same instruction except that I installed Kvantum using Arch Linux package manager. I have got the blur transparency effects but, they are a bit lower than the preview.

If you want more transparency and Blur, do the following:

Dolphin (Show Hidden Files)> .config> Kvantum> BlurGlassyKvantum> Open BlurGlassyKvantum.kvconfig

Line 60: reduce_window_opacity = 70 (Increase to 75 or 80)

Line 61: reduce_menu_opacity = 70 (Increase to 75 or 80)

Let me know if it's better now.

Hi sahafiec,

Download the Kvantum Manager here: https://software.opensuse.org/package/kvantum-manager and install it

Download the "Blur-Glassy Kvantum" Kvantum Theme and unpack it into:
Home (Hiden Files)> .config> Kvantum

Then in System Settings> Application Style> select Kvantum (for light Themes) or Kvantum-dark (for dark Themes)

Then open Kvantum Manager> Change / Delete Theme and select Kvantum Theme "BlurGlassyKvantum"

You can also watch the video guide: https://www.pling.com/p/1342034/

Let me know everything is in order!

thank you very much for the detailed explanation. I did it step by step and it mostly worked, to 85% I would say. still some app windows are white inside instead of transparent, e.g. Krusader, Firefox, Thunderbird - but I can live with this.
it would be so perfect to be able to save all those settings so you don't have to repeat each step after theme change. :)

Hi sahafiec,

For these applications, I recommend Kwin Scripts "Force Blur": https://store.kde.org/p/1294604/
