--UPDATE-- On Metacity and for XFCE users, XFWM- Watching the individual Downloads and listening to some feedback... I have opted to make the Gray Orb version of the XFWM and the Metacity-3 the Default and the Small XFWM and the Original orbless Metacity and XFWM the Alternates. The original or Alternates are still available as separate downloads.
Update: Corrections to Nemo Treeview
UPDATE: Correction made to treeview obscuring the ZorinmenuLite and Whiskermenu--- which not one single person reported so I had no idea there was something wrong until I discovered it by accident.
----UPDATE---- Corrected XFWM4 file still containing the small size. I think they got switched on the previous update- I could be wrong.
-----UPDATE----Corrected Border Radius Issue on NOCSD theme. Apparently, gtk-mushrooms handles it slightly differently than gtk-3-nocsd- and I needed to account for that.
Removed/fixed double title effect in NOCSD in which the titlebar is "doubled" by gtk-3-nocsd
UPDATE: Tooltips are now enabled by default. If you would like to disable Tooltips, in your themes folder, navigate to Empire/cinnamon/gtk.css and open it in a text editor. Scroll to line 1876 and remove the Comment Start "/*" and remove the Comment End at line 1884 "*/"
UPDATE: A gracious tester of the theme has sent in the following suggestions:
Still experiencing some "jumping" with Stark menu- I believe i have fixed it. -Update: Nope. After a reboot, went back to jumping- will fix... UPDATE: FIXED! Finally... UPDATE: No, it's not. And I am Fed Up. It fixes for a while... works perfectly, then goes back to jumping when I hover. It seems to work until I change the theme then change it back. I've tried using other themes and most of them jump too. A couple, never jumped, not one little hop. Looking over their css vs. mine, I still could not find a cause. I have examined the bg images, border images, pixel size on borders... I'm stumped.
-Stark menu lacked a border on the search entry - This necessitates adding a border to the Cinnamon Menu, as well. Originally I was hoping to let it blend the backgrounds but if a border is better then- Added border.
-Clock on the Calendar applet had normal font on hover but bold font the rest of the time- changed both fonts to bold.
--UPDATE--Fixed levelbar block not showing properly (Sorry that it took me so long to spot this...)
---ADDED--- Alternate metacity-3 theme in which the orbs of the Titlebutton close, min, max gray out rather than disappear when window is Inactive/Unfocused.
It was high time I created another original theme.
I named this one "Empire" because of its art deco style dark tones and step level design; it reminded me slightly of the Empire State Building.
You may notice that the Panel bar looks familiar... This was the Original Intention for this design, however, it looked dark and cool so I migrated it to Azenis EX for Cinnamon before I finished this theme and got it ready for release. As you can see, it matches this theme perfectly whereas the Azenis EX is a bit forced and I included the Original Azenis panel background in addition to the Azenis EX theme.
For XFCE users:
I created the XFWM4 theme to instep 10px to allow greater area for Resize-Grip troubles. No fighting to find 1px border, here.
Due to XFCE 4.16 planning the move to fully CSD, dropping XFWM4 themes, I have migrated to Mint Cinnamon, so my screenshots are taken on Cinnamon D.E., however, the XFWM4 theme is complete and Does Work.
----UPDATE---- It was suggested to me that a larger titlebar would be easier for double click-to maximize. I had reconsidered making a larger version because so many Gnome claims are for smaller borders and "precious real estate". But, suggestion noted and approved: I have uploaded a LARGER XFWM4 FILE SEPARATELY. You can download it along with your Empire theme and swap them out if you prefer the larger titlebar.
This comes with the WhiskerMenu and ZorinmenuLite themes built into the theme. If you prefer to not use them, comment out the portions of the .css that enables them.
This comes with Cinnamon Desktop Theme, with a dark and minimalist approach. Stark Menu theme included in the file.
With CSD and NOCSD- BE SURE TO DOWNLOAD THE CORRECT ONE- If you are not using PCMans gtk3-nocsd, then the NOCSD theme will create odd n' unusual headerbars on your csd apps.
I have not yet finished making the icon set for this (That is a lengthy and tedious task) but I am using the Torque Icons with it. It fits pretty well.
Extract package to your Downloads folder. Then move the Empire Theme folder to your /usr/share/themes folder or to ~/.themes
That's it. Since Whisker and ZorinMenu is included, it goes with it.
To use the Menu Button on Cinnamon:
Right click the CinnaMenu and click Configure. Select custom icon and browse to your themes folder empire/cinnamon/mint-menu-icon.png and select it, FIRST.
To use the Menu Button Icons for WhiskerMenu:
Right click WhiskerMenu, then choose Properties. Click the button to select an icon and navigate to your themes folder, empire/gtk-3.0/whiskermenutheme/transparency.png and select it.
ZorinMenuLite stores its icon (usually) as an .svg file in /usr/share/icons/hicolor/symbolic/apps
I hope you enjoy this theme as much as I do. PLEASE REPORT ISSUES TO ME- if I do not know about them, I cannot fix them.
