deKorator is a themable window decorator for KDE SC 4.x.
You can find over 160 deKorator themes here: http://www.kde-look.org/index.php?xcontentmode=21. Additionally, many KDE 3.2+ theme packages include deKorator themes.
The Copyright holder is the original author (Moty Rahamim), I ported it to KDE4, as is allowed per GPL 2+ license. For his KDE3 version, see http://www.kde-look.org/content/show.php/deKorator?content=31447.
Please use the "Report Bug" help menu item to report bugs and wishes for future versions.
Notes:
* To install a theme, the file must be named "NAME-theme.tar.gz" and contain "deco", "buttons", and "masks" directories inside the "NAME-theme" directory. deKorator 0.5 no longer offers a "Paths" tab to set theme paths individually. If a theme does not install, please report this to the author of the theme..
* I do no longer provide binary packages, most distributions already ship deKorator. Ask them to update.
* To install from source, you need cmake, kdebase-workspace-dev, and libqimageblitz-dev (or similary named). Additionally, you must have the KDE 4 binaries in your path. Use
export PATH=$PATH:/usr/lib/kde4/bin/
cd dekorator-0.5.1
cmake -DCMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX=`kde4-config --prefix`
make
sudo make install
* deKorator is developed in KDE's git repository, see https://projects.kde.org/projects/playground/artwork/dekorator

This is my fav at the time to theme the workspace, but, right now I upgraded to plasma/kde5 and this is not available anymore.
Do you have planed to port dekorator to plasma5? this will be really cool.
Thanks and reggards.

We are talking of "Window Decorations" under "Application Style". What do you suggest? Thanks in advance. Jacques

If i try via synaptic, the same happens, dekorator is marked to install but kwin to be uninstalled.
I found the .deb package, so i give it a chance. It installed very well, no dependencies problem.
But now when i try to use the apt-get command this is what i get:
imyc@HP-455-Notebook-PC:~$ sudo apt-get install openjdk-7-jdk
Leyendo lista de paquetes... Hecho
Creando árbol de dependencias
Leyendo la información de estado... Hecho
Tal vez quiera ejecutar «apt-get -f install» para corregirlo:
Los siguientes paquetes tienen dependencias incumplidas:
kde-window-manager : Rompe: kwin-style-dekorator pero 0.5.1-1ubuntu3 va a ser instalado
E: Dependencias incumplidas. Intente «apt-get -f install» sin paquetes (o especifique una solución).
what can i do?? its ok to uninstall kwin to install dekorator?? if yes, what can i use as window manager for use whit dekorator??
thanks

deKorator requires a working kwin. The reason for your error message is that you are using an old package. Use a package of deKorator that is explicitely compiled for your distribution version, or compile it yourself.

cool to have again access to the Motif theme.
The problem I have is that the buttons are grabbing the display being behind when the window is created.
Then it keeps the pattern when I move the window.
I'm running KDE for Debian. Does it ring a bell?
And do you know of a solution? Thanks in advance

I just downloaded Dekorator on Kubuntu 13.04 (with KDE 4.10.3) via apt-get, but i cannot make the buttons look right. Here are 3 examples (with the themes AnewStart, EyeOS and Oxygen) of how it looks:
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/4287016/DeKorator/Dekorator1.png
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/4287016/DeKorator/Dekorator2.png
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/4287016/DeKorator/Dekorator3.png
The strange thing about this is, that the weird buttons appears when i move a window or maximize it. So when the window is not maximized, it all looks normal - most of the time.
Can you help me with this? Thanks!

But in fact I tested this patch with ~10 themes I have installed and all of them worked fine. So even being not a universal solution, it still does the job for most cases :-)
