webshots
Source (link to git-repo or to original if based on someone elses unmodified work): Add the source-code for this project on opencode.net
With this software you can read the images of format wbz and wbc (format of files you can find on http:/www.webshots.com).
In order to "activate" this plugin it's necesssary to close all running konqueror. Please note that konqueror keeps an instance of themself preloaded in memory which you have to explicitly kill.
Once konqueror correctly recognizes the wbz images you have to associate them with your preffered KDE viewer. Right click on a wbz file, select "Properties" and click on the "configure" icon then select your preffered viewers in both tabs.
The wbz files are read using the plugin system of KDE so you can open it in every KDE graphic viewer.
wbc files are archives of (mostly) wbz images. the webshots protocol takes care to read this file and present it as a normal structure of folders. Please note that in order to activate the protocol in konqueror some distributions needs that you have to set this: Konqueror => Configure => Preview & Meta Data => Local protocols => "Mark Webshots as active" (Thanks to Philippe Schroll for the hint).
typing webshots:/path/image_archive.wbc almost everywhere on KDE should enable you to see the images stored in the file. so you can use them for the background of your desktop.
NOTE THAT YOU CAN USE THESE IMAGES ONLY FOR THE BACKGROUND OF YOUR DESKTOP AND THAT ANY OTHER USE IS EXPLICITLY FORBIDDEN BY THE WEBSHOT LICENSE,
for more details go the webshot site or read the WEBSHOTS_LICENSE.HTML file that comes with this software.
LEGAL NOTE: I'm not aware of every and each issue related with distributing a software that read a propretary file format but some considerations may be done:
-> I don't make any money from this
-> I used informations found easily on the net
-> I enable linux user to take the advantages of the webshot services
-> Users can do nothing illegal with that software that can not be done on other OS (you can always copy webshot images with ALT+STAMP ...)
In conclusion I believe that distributing this software the only effect for webshot company is to gain more users (I know that they can blame me anyway ...).

Compiled src etc and it's not present as a local protocal in Konquerors configure section.
I missed the 'requires 3.2.*' section, otherwise I wouldn't have bothered to download it. Note that src compiled fine without any warnings. I'm not sure what KDE has changed between 3.2.* and 3.3.*, so not sure what to hunt for to fix this.
