And rename the file .jpg to

bootsplash-1024x768.jpg

Next open the file

/usr/share/splash/bootsplash-1024x768.cfg

And change only these fields:

"ty=210"
"tw=840"
"th=480""

Next, save the file, log in as root and run the following commands:

mk_initrd
