Meliae Splash for GIMP
Source (link to git-repo or to original if based on someone elses unmodified work): Add the source-code for this project on opencode.net
GIMP Splash to match Meliae Icon Theme. Install instructions provided.
However here are instructions:
First I guess to rename the original files:
cd /usr/share/gimp/2.0/images/
sudo mv gimp-splash.png gimp-splash-orig.png
sudo mv gimp-logo.png gimp-logo-orig.png
sudo mv wilber.png wilber-orig.png
then, from the folder where you uncompressed the downloaded file:
sudo cp gimp-splash.png /usr/share/gimp/2.0/images/gimp-splash.png
sudo cp gimp-logo.png /usr/share/gimp/2.0/images/gimp-logo.png
sudo cp wilber.png /usr/share/gimp/2.0/images/wilber.png
That's all!

1. go to ~/.gimp-2.6/
2. create a folder called 'splashes'
3. put the image in there.
DONE!
btw, these splashes (openoffice, too) are great! They are so crisp and clean. I love them!
