"aRoK" is a small superKaramba desktop applet that provides a few features which can also be found in some
"smartphones". It's main feature is the interaction with amaroK player.
Touch screen with icons menu;
Can be used both in Horizontal or Vertical mode;
Various skins available;
Configuration tools to access all configurable options;
Comes with the following plugins:
Photoshow:
- Display your favorite photos in a slide show.
Calendar:
- Configurable calendar with date display.
Media controller (amaroK player):
- Display cover and information of currently playing media;
- Control basic player functions.
Stock watch:
- Follow the evolution of markets and receive custom alerts about your stocks.
Mail:
- Get mail count from your mail accounts (GMail accounts included);
- Launch your favorite mail application to read mail.
Phone:
- Make internet phone calls to contacts all around the world;
- Have your contacts indexed by Contact Books and Groups.
Clock:
- Display current local date and time in an analog/digital clock.
Calculator:
- Perform simple quick calculations;

could you add an option to reset the email counter and only show the number of new messages since the last time the email applet was clicked.
Reason: I use a pop account and leave my messages on the server, so aRoK shows the total amount of emails not only the new one.

Another problem: Mail fetching doesn't work. I only get: Query mail server for minutes.
By the way: Fantastic widget.

In KMail I use SSL to recive the mails. Can you add an option to use SSL?

Yap, something similar for plasma is in the works :) right now the main focus is to catch bugs, all we can find, and get a few more plugins working (SMS, Phone calls, RSS reader, wether (...)). The plasmoid will be out after, gives also time for KDE 4 to be a bit more of common use. Best regards, Lechio.
