Maybe it can be a configuration issue with yor system, not really sure. Titles display ok on my system. What superkaramba version are you running? Maybe someone can help you out with that.

No problems displaying Japanese in any other apps, so config seems ok
Using SuperKararamba 0.36

So the title for the songs display OK on amarok's playlist? If that's so then i guess it would be a problem with the script. I have no way of testing this as i don't have any japanese songs. Test it out with another superkaramba script (soundmania for instance) to see if this really is a script issue).

Looks like it's Karamba's fault (the same is happening in soundmania)
Sorry ^_^

This is the best of all that I liked for karamba.

I just wanted to know, whether its hard to somehow also integrate the control options to be enabled for XMMS player, so it can control it, too.

Thanks.

Hi there.
Wouldn't be that hard to add the controls
for XMMS. As for the cover part, a function would have to be written (or adapt an existing one) since as far as i know XMMS doesn't support covers for songs (without a pluggin that is).
If you want to use a karamba widget for the XMMS player, would suggest you use the excelent widget "Soundmania", as it also supports XMMS.
amaroKer will be for use with amarok player only, as it is easier to optimise it for one player only.

Really good Karamba-theme!
Why don't you post it on amarok.kde.org?!

Report

C

Well, the main reason is because it is
only a superkaramba script :)
It is open to ports to the amarok script
format. If anyone feels like porting it,
please feel free to do so, as the work is
under GPL license.

hey

I think you should really try to do something to the cpu-usage. on my system (amd 2000+) it uses 15% cpu - without it (runing liquid weather and mca and the album script within amarok) cpu use is between 10 and 15, if i use amaroker(blue), it jumps to 30-35!!!

Yes it does take some CPU charge to the system. Mainly because of the DCOP calls needed to display current track time. That will be corrected and new features added on next update, using a python only theme. For now time display is commented by default.

I have several titles that are setup as title - artist, and now I just get artist in the title slot. This I presume is because you are trying to crop the front artist off due to the way that the nowPlaying dcop entry works. Well at least with 1.2.1 of amarok you can use the title dcop option to just get the title without the additional artist and strip the sed -e 's/.*-//' script entry.

Hi!
I like your theme very much, but I have to say two things about it:
1. when resizing images try to keep the ratio of an image. They are all a little flattened.

2. it uses A LOT of cpu... 10- 15%. Maybe you should reduce the refresh intervals.

First comment reply: album pics are now corrected (should of tryed the theme with diferent ones before...).

Second comment reply: it uses about 6% percent of CPU on mine (AMD athlon@1000 Mhz). But that is (i think) a problem with some versions of KDE and the way it handles DCOP calls, reducing refresh rates is not a solution. For instance if running on KDE from Fedora Core 3 on the same machine the CPU usage doubles compared to running it on a debian machine... :/
