Description:

A (useless) eye-candy superkaramba theme. It displays the space station from 2001: A Space Odyssey rotating on your desktop. Converted from a konfabulator widget, credit for images goes to the original author.

Tested with superkaramba 0.17f.

Change the INTERVAL tag value in the theme file for slower or faster rotation cycles.

Yup.

Use the format below.

image x=0 y=0 path="img/icons/mail.png"
clickarea x=0 y=0 w=34 h=34 onclick="kmail --check"

It's really weird, but having this spinning station on my desktop increases my productivity, no joke. This is awesome, so simple, yet so useful.

This is really spiffy (especially on my wallpaper, which already has a picture of the Earth on it!), but I really wish it had more frames. If the number of frames was doubled or perhaps quadrupled I think the animation would look much smoother.

BOTTOMBAR=TRUE Wouldn't that just stick the button to the bottom of the screen? and then you can play with the x axis to get it to the left..

I'm sure it works with superkaramba, not sure about karamba though.

Yeah, that would work if you wanna have it at the bottom of the screen. This theme works only with superkaramaba anyways, but I think that's a feature of karamba too. Another thing I wanted to mention, you can display the K menu exactly where you want using a dcop call like "dcop kicker kicker popupKMenu x,y". I don't think it's possible to diplay any other menus or sub-menus using dcop calls, just the main K menu.

For anybody who wants to use this as a K Menu Button, edit the theme file to look like this (although mess around with the Y position, thats just where it works on my resolution (1280x960))

#Station V
KARAMBA X=0 Y=860 W=96 H=96 INTERVAL=75 LOCKED=true
CLICKAREA X=48 Y=48 W=96 H=96 SENSOR=PROGRAM ONCLICK="dcop kicker kicker popupKMenu 0"

You can use "dcop kicker kicker popupKMenu 1" if you wanna display the K menu to the top-left corner.

Cool, thanks :)

Is it about the same to get other menus? I'd like to make a game menu and other things like that to put in the osx-bar theme,, but I'm not sure how I could do it.

good idea fuz!

I think I've got it, but whats the command for the K Menu?

I've got:
#Station V
KARAMBA X=0 Y=700 W=96 H=96 INTERVAL=250 LOCKED=true
CLICKAREA X=48 Y=48 W=96 H=96 SENSOR=PROGRAM ONCLICK="

Yeah, it's really big, jejeje. Btw how to make it smaller?

All the images are in the pics directory, and they're 96x96. You can resize them with gimp for example, and then save them over the big images. Then you just have to replace 96 with the new size in the theme and python files. Good luck :)

Cool, I'm glad you've found a practical use for it :) You could also resize all the images and change the image size in the theme and python files, if you wanna make it smaller, it's kinda big for a K menu.
