Description:

I never liked the standard themes on kde-look.org that used the same canned format with only modifed backgrounds and icons. A lot of fucntionality in them I found useless. Commenting out a particular component only left blank spots. I discovered TDE which was modular in design. Later I grew tired of TDE's large component size. I tried to find a minimal theme and I was left with the same problem above. So I created my own.

time.theme - Date, time and uptime. (not in screen shot)
cpu-usgae.theme - CPU %
cpu-usgae-withspeed.theme - CPU % and reports processor speed if you have cpufreq enabled, designed for laptops. Thanks to Jason D.
ram-usage.theme - Memory and swap in use (excluding buffers and cache)
cputemp.theme - CPU temperature and fan speed
sysemtemp.theme - System temperature and fan speed
disk-*.theme - Disk usage as a percent
net-usage.theme - Current network speed. the top part is input and bottom is output.
netstat.theme - Displays 6 network connections

I personally don't have a desire for other functionality. If there is something you want. Feel free to ask. That doesn't mean I will add it. Otherwise anyone is welcome to send me a component to be packaged with MiniKaramba or I can link to one.

Usage:
Load each theme file or all.theme.
cputemp and systemtemp theme may need to be modified to suit your particular system. Run the 'sensors' program to check. In systemtemp.theme I have the fan speed commented out. On my sytem there isn't a reading.

disk-home is an example of reporting the disk space of the /home directory. To add more disks simply copy disk-home.theme and rename home to something your choosing. Modify the mountpoint="" option to your chosen disk.

Note:
This is not in skz format. Since MiniKaramba uses multiple theme files I'm not sure how to handle that yet.

The "Processes" theme from the screen shot is a seperate theme, karamTop, linked below.

I like the way you organized your desktop. I have mine in a very similar way- no icons on the desktop, everyting is on the panels.

But I wonder which pager are you using that shows you desktop previews? I have previews checked, but it only shows the window borders...

I'm actually using kicker pager. As there is some kind of known issue with kde 3.4 with kpager2.

I use my Desktop literally as a desktop. It's a temporary area. Nothing sits on it more than a few hours.
