Description:

Simplegmail is a theme for karamba that checks for new messages from GMail account and shows the number of new messages. It supports checking multiple gmail accounts. User can add any number of gmail accounts in the simplegmail.py script file. It is recommended to change the mode of simplegmail.py file to 700 as it contains the passwords for gmail account.

This is my first attempt for writing a theme for karamba and also using python. Any comments or suggestions are heartly welcome.

I am glad to have found this theme, it works great.

However, I have a request:
I would love for this script to be called independantly from this theme so I can integrate it into my current system monitor theme.

what I'm looking for is possibly a way to use it with the program= option in a .theme file, is this possible?

Is there a way to get it to show alternate words,rather than show your gmail username on your desktop? I take alot of screenshots and don't feel comfortable with everyone knowing my accounts, lol.

Can you tell me how to replace them with general words, like "Personal", "Business", "Kids", etc?

This one is atleast working. Nice.

The clock is little of borders though.
You need to work on UI for better looks.

A Black color and transparent options will be great.

Courtesy of images from the "BlackGlass" theme for dbKalendar (http://kde-look.org/content/show.php?content=24368), I have made a theme for simplegmail that matches.

To use, just replace the files in simplegmail/img/ and reload simplegmail.

Again, image credit to the author of "BlackGlass" for dbKalendar.

Hi,
thanks for your theme, it's very useful for me :)

I access Internet through a proxy server, so i added proxy server support to your theme. I also replaced your wget function with curl cause this works better for me using a proxy.

You are welcome to use this changes in your version. You can find my simplegmail.py with proxy support located here: http://www.manpage.ch/tmp/simplegmail.py
