Description:

Firefox stores its passwords internally, optionally protected by a master password. KDE has its own password manager called KWallet. KWallet stores every password in the KDE system, and protects access by a master password. With this extension you are able to use KWallet instead of the default Firefox password manager. It allows tighter integration of Firefox inside KDE.

IMPORTANT: This version works ONLY with KDE4, for the KDE5 version use: http://kde-apps.org/content/show.php?content=173994

It seems that the crashes experienced by the users are related to the new Javascript JIT Compiler Called ION Baseline. Disabling it seems to solve the problem. You can disable it by setting javascript.options.baselinejit.* in about:config to false

It's strange that the problem got solved for you. The Kwallet plugin started crashing here (2 different machines, OpenSUSE 13.1 and Tumbleweed) when Firefox got upgraded to v26. All my fiddling (installing the OBS version, clearing cache and cookies, starting with an empty .mozilla folder) has so far amounted to nothing. It's 100% reproducible here, but I don't know where to send the traceback. Is the developer still on board?

No, my seg faults with Firefox 26 are back again. A fresh Firefox setup (clean profile, no add ons) works fine. Then I added some add-ons one by one. The KWallet plugin makes no problems at the first view. Then I added some other addons, which I have been using for a long time. Today Firefox is crashing again but I don't really know, which of my installed add-ons is the reason for the seg faults. I will go on testing with a fresh setup and only with the KWallet add-on for a while.

Yes and no. This seems to be the source and it seems like he is working on Firefox 9 support. As i tried to build the extension, i got an error. that might be the reason for not yet released a new version.
As i don't know C, i can't contribute or provide a patch, but maybe someone else.

Very nice addon! To get it working I had to do the library path thing. Would you think of putting the explanation more upfront? In example, a "please visit <website> for more info" on the addon page or info tab. I think the lack of visibility of the explanation can lead to an initial confusion regarding the well functioning of the addon.

I'm getting really good at remembering my passwords on the top of my head :-) but a compatible version would be great. Especially on linux I experienced a long awaited performance boost with firefox 8, don't want to go back to 7.

Well, actually thank you first of all to make our life easier :-)
I noticed also that with several plugins, since Firefox changed their versioning there are more problems with plugin compatibility. How comes, are they really changing that many things with each new release?

Not really. There are two things going on. Several versions ago, they forced to recompile binary plugins for each new major version of firefox. Then they start publishing new major versions every three months. Neither they change their API, nor I change my plugin, but there are other compatibility issues because this plugin is in the middle between KDE and Mozilla. So every 3 months I am forced to start over.

Mozzila guys made an automatic check and upgrade, there should be no problem with Firefox 7 and thunderbird 7
