Description:

SuSe like kickoff for Slackware.

It conflicts with genuine kdebase from Slackware.

It is tested on a fresh installation of genuine Slackware 12.0 with Xorg 7.1 - Version 3.5.8 is tested on genuine Slackware current.

You have to install liblazy - use the version from the link provided.

CREDITS GO TO SFLACK / WWW.SFLACK.COM FOR THE HELP WITH MY FIRST STEPS !!!

This version has to be taken for highly experimental so don't blame me if you ruin your installation. ;)

In case of problems uninstall this package and reinstall the original Slackware kdebase package.

Comments are highly appreciated !

New in version 0.1:

- Switched to the build scripts from:

http://www.slacky.eu/repository/slackware-12.0/desktop/kdebase-kickoff/3.5.7/src

- Version 3.5.8 for Slackware-Current added

- Compiled from scratch and upgraded to kdebase 3.5.7

- Tested on Slackware-12.0/Slax6RC6/LMO-Live-0.2rc1 (3.5.7)

- Tested on Slackware-Current (3.5.8)

Version 0.1_alpha:

Changed kmenu button for the use with Nekdesk-ng (which will be (re)born in the next weeks) and Slax6.

If you want to use this package with Slax6 RC2 there will be a lack of dependencies in comparison to genuine Slackware.

As the original compilation doesn't behave as expected (no hover effect with kemu button) I had to merge the compiled svn version with the kickoff rpm from Mandriva.

As soon as the compilation gets stable I will provide a new version.

I had a breakdown of my server 3 days ago - at the moment I am rebuilding the packages.

I will upload the new packages asap.

Nifty little app :)

Is there a way to edit menu entries?

For example, kinfocenter (system information under computer) in Slackware -current is located at /usr/share/applications/kde/kinfocenter.desktop, but the menu entry you have is pointing to /usr/kde/3.5/share/applications/kde/kinfocenter.desktop

I tried right clicking on the menu entry itself, but I didn't see a way to edit it.

I know it is only a hack, but try the following:

mkdir -p /usr/kde/3.5

ln -s /usr/share/ /usr/kde/3.5/share

I'll try to fix this.

Hi LocoMojo,

1st: Thank you for testing :D

2nd: I will check this - I think it is due to the mix of svn and mandriva version ;)
