Description:

This patch makes the redmond-splash-engine fade the user-icon (or whathever else) in and out periodically. It takes some CPU-time, but looks nice ;-) Have fun! Tell me whether you like this one!

Perhaps you could simulate an old tv set!

Can you remember it?
When you switched off the very old tv sets, they faded out slowly and and last you could see a glowing spot in the middle (some color tv sets showed this spot in every color).

That would be new and more 'action' as the Xp effect :)

There will be a new splash engine in 3.4?

Too bad I just created a new splash engine myself

Probably all my work will be of no use... Well at least i got animated alpha blends, perhaps that's something new...

Havn't had a look at the new 3.4 splash engine yet...

well, its in KDE's CVS, if you install kde 3.4-cvs I guess you can try it. its desinged to allow more freedom with theme creation, like for example the gnome desktop manager (afaik, kdm will be (almost) compattible with gdm themes).

you can maybe find some info on the dot, and/or in the cvs digests.
