Description:

gFlat is a gtk-engine using cairo and is based on clearlooks.
i addet some options in the gtkrc:
cornerstyle: specify if you want rounded cornerst or not
scrollbarstyle: specify if you want strokes on the scrollbar (see screenshot 1)
progressbarstyle: specify if you want arrows for the progressbar strokes or the original clearlooks style.

if this options are not set, the engine takes the default value.

NOTE: on my 2nd system i had to logout and login after selecting this theme because ther were some funny colors on the widgets. after this it worked.

PS: productive comments are always welcome!

Try the engine together with the gFlat metacity theme by bvc!

thx!
on the round scrollbars, I think the steppers being round is an eyesore. Any hopes of getting them squared on the slider side again?

I appreciate the transarency configs in the gtkrc!!!

This rocks! Thank you!

May I suggest getting rid of the bg prelight on options and checks so that the only thing that changes is the actual options and checks? This was my suggestion for the ubuntulooks engine and I love it. As of yet, I have not heard anyone complain about a lack of usability in not seeing the entire clickable area bg prelight. I think it makes options and checks act as they are intend and is much more polished. I do this with my pixmap themes as well.

nice engine. i thnik the stipled line that separates systay and the rest of the toolbar is big and ugly tho. can you do something different there?

otherwise this is a nice one, its a bit similar to rezlooks, but with some polishing i think id prefer this one :)

yes i can reconstruct that it looks like a copy of rezlooks :) but it should not be. if you like to have rounded widgets, you just have to change the value of the cornerstyle in the gtkrc file.

but you are right, the grepfield looks a bit ugly. i´m going to find a better solution.

I appreciate your work, but I think that you can cooperate toghether with "rezza" in order to update the rezlooks engine.
You and rezza may change rezlooks name into something less "rezza" :) and more to flatlooks or something similar.

This two engines want to do the same thing so if you and him code a new engine with a lot of options for scrollbars button ecc ecc the community will be happier! :)

yes this is a good idea.
2 projects like this should cooperate.

Cooperation is always a good thing but it seems there are 2 completely different visions. Gflat is much clearer and has a lot more contrast making it much more useable, and I like that. They are both good, but very different in aesthetics. Please don't loose that in the name of cooperation!
