Here is my modded version of the MorningGlory GTK theme by darkmatter.
Modded:
- Panel buttons. ( lighter and more blueish )
- Buttons. ( lighter )
- Checkbox ( no more green )
- Menu ( blue instead of green )
- ..

I do have a few gripes though:
- no customizable colors
- some buttons look too "thin"
Other than that, it just feels right :)

If you dont have pixbuf installed, gtk will pick up the colors but will fallback to the default widgets. hence the problem you are experiencing.
