Description:

This is one of the latest pictures taken by Cassini while orbiting Saturn. Saw this picture on the NASA website and thought it would make a pretty wallpaper. Thought I'd share it with all.
The second screenshot will show a little flare on top of the "Cassini" text. Though I didnt like the effect in the end, if any one was interested they could download the third screen shot for that..

Hope you like it.

This is a pretty cool background. I sure love the grandeur of space. If you like this and would love more space related backgrounds I would suggest visiting the hubble telescope's homepage. http://www.hubblesite.org.

And of course there will be no more maintenance missions to the Hubble telescope but i do believe that decision was made by NASA and not by any other branch of the government for any political stance. I personally think it would be great to share linux and ideas and images here and not political agendas.

amazing what can be done when brain and money are put at good use...

and some idiot cut funds to nasa...
he wants astronauts to go on the moon again... for what?
at the same time the Hubble Space Telescope is at risk, as well as the human missions on Mars...
what a jerk!
send that idiot back to texas!

I agree. Though its not because Bush is an idiot. NASA has always been wasting money on its low-science-for-the-buck human space program. The ISS is not much more then a money sink.

A manned mission to Mars is a good idea I think, but its not going to happen soon with the ISS taking all the money.

Cool background. I hope color pictures of the rings come out soon.
