Screenshot 1 is the original. If you like it, click on the thumbnail and then right-click and save the full-sized image.

Screenshot 2 is of the current image. I darkened the edges to help make icons more visible.

I really like your wallpapers, however, could you provide higher resolutions such as 1280? Then I could use them too! :)

Here's an idea: instead of placing the KDE letters over the scene, why not put a notebook PC (running KDE, of course) on the table?

I was an avid user Bryce back in version 2. Can I ask you to do the same render for 1024 x 768

Bryce has a bit of a learning curve, but not as much as linux software such as Blender. Once you know how to use it, it doesn't take very long to create scenes like this. Over time, you can accumulate objects (tables, chairs, glass blocks, etc.) and then simply arrange them different way. Once you've got some objects, it's as easy as moving furniture.

Oooh... thats beautiful. Hey did you just render all that on a 3D app or added some color effects on Gimp? In anycase.. I just cant get my eyes off it.. Great going...

I rendered this scene quite some time ago, using Corel's Bryce 5. I think the original image was too colorful to be suitable as a wallpaper, so I used gimp to 'desaturate' (convert to gray-scale, sort of), and then I used color-balance to add a blue/cyan tint. Finally, I wanted the left edge to be dark, to improve the visibility of the icons, so I overlaid a radial gradient layer. I've been applying these techniques to some of my old 3D images - and people seem to enjoy them, so I may do a few more. Here are some others:

Now this is great!. More renderings like this and you could have the beginnings of a nice game on your hands. Fantastic job!
