A topical wallpaper - if you want to squeeze a little government propaganda out of your ambient environment and insert a different perspective, this is for you. It's supposed to look stark, like a protest banner. There's been some negative feedback about its artistic merit so I'll be trying some improvements shortly.
The gist is "there's a reason for this war - the survival of the Corporate Industrial-Military complex and the source of its fear - corrupt Christian fundamentalists whose fear mongering poisons the U.S. government."
For my fav. KDE only.

Regardless on your feelings of a coming war with Iraq (and yes, it IS coming), I'd like to point out a few fucking facts:
Some of us are only around because some GI's fought and fucking died to end Nazi power. I don't give a rat's fucking ass if you think it was for money, politics, power, or any other demented sort of conspiracy-laced theory that you can come up with in the most liberal anti-American ideologies. The fact is that they fought and fucking died for it and very few other people did. The motive doesn't mean shit to me, the result does.
Some cops take the job for money, and some for ideology. Does that make them dirty? Does a detective on the front line who gets killed protecting you get spit on because he gets a paycheck from you every month? How about the fireman, fighting every day to rescue people from infernos...are you pissed off that he gets paid, or gets to park next to a hydrant instead of you?
How about showing a little fucking style? I'm sorry for being so god damned rude but I've had it up to my fucking eyeballs with my country being equated with Nazis. So the Bush family made it's fortune with the Third Reich. So what? Your'e going to blame him for it? He didn't choose his grandfather any more than you did. All of a sudden it is fashionable to blame Bush Jr. for his grandfather's doings, but shit...I can't mention that most Germans out there had grandfathers killing off Jews in the camps and carting them off - that would be impolitic to me. Talk about fucking hypocrisy. Did you happen to look into Joschka Fischer's past? Or Shroeder's past? Or ANYONE else in Germany who is currently opposed to the war? How about Chirac who actually sold Saddam Hussein a nuclear reactor? Excuse me for saying this, Europe, but it's a bad fucking world out there and your countries are not untainted. It's about bloody time you wake the fuck up and realize that the little paradise you've built for yourselves is built on your blood - and OURS as well. Why the hell do you think all the Eastern European countries signed on to the war? To spite Europe...or maybe there's another reason - like they know what tyrrany is, and they sure as fuck don't see it in the good old USA. Oh yeah..maybe we duped them all with our "Jewish media" which isn't free, of course. And all our rights are being "taken away" by the Patriot act. Yeah, we really control the world and actually, didn't you know (oh gee) we have so many Jews here too, rooting for Israel, just like the "Christian Fundamentalists" who want to wipe out the rest of the world. Hell yeah. Shit, didn't you know all that was true, and we're covering up Aliens in Area 51 as well. Darn it, even American Media shows that's true with series like the X-Files.
And by the way, Noam Chomsky is a fucking moron, okay? Why don't you read about what he said last year before we went into Afghanistan. He said it would trigger a nuclear war (wrong!). He said we would be killed off like we were in Vietnam (wrong!). He said that we would never defeat the Taliban (wrong!). Gee, maybe you should listen to a guy who hasn't been so wrong so often in so little time.
And my last point is this: I'm honestly pissed off that I have to come to one of my favorite happy sites and see this shit. How about I make a big GERMANY = SWASTIKA symbol and stick it up here? How about I do the same for France? Huh? How would that make you feel? Well shit, I have history on my side too! I'll just slap a big fucking K on it and say that it's topical for this site and everything is okay. Heck, you're offended? That's too fucking bad, right? Freedom of speech and all.
Show some fucking decency and remove that stain before I really *DO* make a wallpaper like that just for spite. If that detritus can stay up there and be "topical", I don't see any reason why mine can't either.
Yours truly,
Really fucking pissed off.

the Germans would have the nerve to lecture us on what's right
or wrong. They have the worst track record in a over a century
on human rights. To equate attempting to free the Iraq people
and protect our country to that of Hitler is comical. After all,
I don't think we will be looking for babies to perform experiments
on or building furnaces/gas chambers to kill millions.

p.s. I find the Germany=Swastika thing particularly funny, as it's the US that constantly equate Saddam=Hitler. But hey; history isn't your strong point is it?

Instead of inflamatory symbols, particularly the swastica, how about something more civil. While I'm not totally for attacking Iraq, I think there is a MAJOR difference between attacking a country in violation of international resolutions and an aggressive, racist philosophy (i.e. Nazism).
This is very offensive, IMO.

Corrupt Christian fundamentalists are corrupt particularly in that they've forgotton the basic tenant of Christianity - to forgive - to live and let live. It has bred in the cess pool of fear - of the Russians, of the Blacks, of the Immigrants. It's offered rightiousness and absolute solutions where that's the worst possible option. It is the worst kind of aggressive racism - most people I know seem to think that Arabs are all barbaric nutters, this is a fantasy. If Bush isn't a fundamentalist then I'm scared - there are worse people out there? Maybe you've been reading his speeches and believing them. Look at the actions of the man, on the death-penalty, on abortion, on war and revenge. Lunatic. The power of the Christian fundamentalists IS strong because it is STRONG in the military. Of all the armies in the world the U.S. army has taken the philosophy of brainwashing to new heights (" to break down the liberal pussy with ;D ") instilling the most dangerous brand of "America is the greatest country on earth, the only free country, the only democratic country, we are surrounded by evil and violent people" which is total double-think. Try reading George Orwell - 1984 - to understand what "perpetual war" does to a people and then think about what the government's been saying recently.
As for treaty breaking and racism - take a look at the list of countries on the bottom half of the wallpaper.

Bush is NOT a fundamentalist in many issues. He's a rather moderate socially, many of his positions have appeased the moderate liberals as well as the moderate conservatives. Those further on either end of the spectrum don't like it though.
Fundamentalist, simply, just means someone who sticks to the fundamentals. That is, in the context of Christianity, one that follows the traditional tenets of Christianity. Billy Graham is a fundamentalist, for example. President Bush isn't, because he is somewhat on the moderately liberal side of the Christian church. Make sense?
He is rather conservative on some issues (i.e. he doesn't support 'killing'/euthanizing the unborn, as you point out), but he also is liberal on others (he supports some embryonic stem cell research).
All that said, fundamentalism and conservative foreign policy are two different things. No where odes it say in the Bible "Thou shalt have preemptive strikes." The point being, whether or not some fundamentalists agree with the Iraq situation, calling anyone who does a Christian fundamentalist is truly like calling all Muslims terrorists. On the other hand, there are many Christians and NON-Christians that support action in Iraq but in a measured way. Whatever the case, it just isn't a black and white world.
Just because there are more Christians than Muslims doesn't make it any better or less hurtful to generalize that the group is one of "hatred" and/or "warmongering."

Normally I wouldn't expect political issues to spill over into a place like kde-look.org - usually political commentaries are better kept in an appropriate forum - but this is such an important and emotive issue for so many people that I'm not surprised it has happened here. I'd rather not see kde-look.org turn into a political bitchfight though, so let's keep it to just this one subject and let's keep it polite and thoughtful, eh?
Personally I'm with the wallpaper on this one, but if those who are pro-war want to do their own pro-war wallpaper and put it up on kde-look.org... let them. That's part of what the internet is about, isn't it, empowering the individual?
I bet there's some jerk who will just write a down-voting bot for it though... :(

But I say BRAVO. Nice to see that at least someone is trying to challenge our grey matter. Admittedly, I have seen most of this information before, but it is interesting to see a concise list of 'interferences'.
However, I disagree with the first comment for two reasons;
a. The three lines, (here in England), mean 'equivalent'. OK, a pedantic point, but it changes the argument.
b. As history shows, the Romans continually used the threat of war, (real, or frequently, imagined), as an excuse to invasion/intervention. More often than not, commercial interests were closest to the heart of the problem. Admittedly, the Nazis did not use these arguments themselves, but the arrangement of the logos suggests that the US between the two; imitating the Roman model, whilst creating the terror & oppression seen under the Third Reich. So it isn't a simple matter of sticking nasty logos together. (Hell, I only know what SPQR stands from because I read 'Asterix' as a child). I'm sure there are other interpretations of the logos, but the think I like the most about this wallpaper is that the viewer isn't spoonfed; something that always gets right on my...
Another plus is that it is factual, (although the references are all over the shop). It's not an insensible demand to kill Christians or Americans.
I think it fair to point out that berating the fundamentalist Christians in control of the US govenment doesn't have any reflection upon those of us that can actually USE our brains, and therefore have no relation to the current US government. So I wasn't offended.
This is obviously turning into a rant. I think I'd better have a lie down! :)

Put simply, the war has never stopped. After Kuwait [when Bush1 had convinced the Kurds to rise up and rebel (AGAIN, remember iran-iraq) and the U.S. government shafted them for a second time by lifting the iraq-wide no-fly zone so Saddam could airlift troops and crush the rebellion] American began its twelve year siege. There has been non-stop bombing for over a decade! HEAVY bombing! At the same time the U.K./U.S. airforces regularly withdraw their patrols to allow the Turks to bomb the fuck out of the Kurds - this is all well documented stuff. Remember, we're going in there to liberate the Kurds! Bollox.
The reason the ground invasion is happening now is that Bush1's cabinet are back in power and there are plenty of scandals/widespread corruption to hide.
Personally, I think it would be a very bad idea for any country to hand over its WMD given the recent history of the U.S. to dominate and invade countries that can't adequately defend themselves - but that's besides the point. In reality the Iraqis are saying that they have nothing left after 12 years of constant bombardment and economic sanctions, the weapons inspectors are saying that they can't find anything significant, the U.S./U.K. dossiers are absolutely LAUGHABLE considering they've had 12 years to get evidence (in the U.K. case the dossier which Powell commended so highly at the U.N. was a cut-and-paste job from a twelve year old PhD thesis!!!), you can't make this shit up. Just because you're told they're a massive threat doesn't make it true, at all. It's like when Nixon had another go at pushing for an invasion of Cube and tried to get the Mexican president onside at a public rally. The Mexican president declined saying that "he wouldn't be responsible for the death of 40,000 mexicans who would die laughing".
All the hard shit they did have was U.S./U.K. supplied (which is why the permanent members of the security council refused to release the original Iraqi declaration until they had time to censor it for incriminating evidence). Donald Rumsfeld himself is publicly quoted endorsing the use of Chemical weapons against the Iranians (who had rebelled against the CIA installed Shah, don't forget - also don't forget that at the same time as arming Iraq PointDexter was also arming Iran in the bizarre hope that maybe they'd wipe each other out?!?!?).
At the same time Israel has more nukes than the U.K., biological and chemical weapons, a HUGE military industry, has invaded its neighbour's territory on many occasions, is illegally occupying the West Bank and the Gaza Strip after STARTING the '67 war, and has more U.N. resolutions against it (I believe, I'll have to check that) than any other country in the world. But America still supports it by between $3B - $10B a year as it is a very nice terrorist threat against those evil arabs.
Try to escape the "us and them" bubble of fear and hatred and take a look at things in a more objective light for just a second - based on the facts of the matter and the respective nations real history of violence.
(I mentioned the kurds at the beginning btw to point out that the 'murderous saddam' (who's killed a fuck of a lot less than the CIA and U.S. military have just this decade) has been suppressing a people who have been agitated and pushed to armed confrontation by the CIA before being abandoned twice. [Also worth mentioning that the Kurds were the first people in the world to be indiscriminately bombed from the air, by the British]. What steps do you think the U.S. would take if a foreign power convinced Utah to begin an armed insurgency? When you only have 10% of the facts people can paint any picture they like and it's difficult for you to see it as a forgery. Get yourself educated.
