Some say that there are no religious wallpapers included with any other operating systems, well then what is ubuntu Christian edition? You know why there is no demand for wallpapers like this? People are to afraid to speak up because of rejection and condemnation like this. "Do not be ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God unto salvation for everyone who believes." There needs to be more people doing stuff like this, we will not be walked on. Thanks tgriser for your support! And to all of my fellow believers out there, stand up for the faith, and God bless.

Why can't you just post this on a site that's appropriate for it? Why must religious people always push their propaganda into every square inch of the world? Don't you understand that half the people don't want to have to see this stuff? If there are sites that the other half who DO want see this go to, why can't you post it there and leave secular sites alone? How would you like it if I went into your church and started preaching Islam or Buddhism? It's not a matter of filling a demand and you know it. It's a matter of spreading your belief, something which your imaginary friend commands you to do. Once you understand the pretenses, it becomes obvious that this is an unwanted attempt to sell an idea. If you really just wanted to "fill a need" you would post this on a site where people are garaunteed to like what you are posting. I'm sure if you do a google search for "Christian Wallpaper" you can find thousands of sites that are appropriate for this.

"Don't you understand that half the people don't want to have to see this stuff?"... How do you think we feel when people post images of nudity? At least all you have to do is overlook this, you don't even see what's written on the wallpaper, what about those of us who when we get on, are being assailed with images of half naked girls and don't appreciate it. If you don't like it, I don't care, my God is bigger than any of you!

This boy/girl is a beautiful example of religious hypocrisy. Do you see his/her hummility?

Religious people, in general, is intolerant and absurd. Don't start a wave of intolerance to this people, they don't deserve our care: just give them the bad percentages that they deserve and don't pay attention at this.

'This' is becoming matterial for their overbloated paranoia. And they'll start making more boring stuff not being satisfied until they take down the gnome-look server...

The swine in that verse are defined by the way you act. Have you not been bashing us Christian for the sake of your own likes and dislikes of our religion? It is more or less metaphorical, you give people something Godly like this and they treat it poorly and act like swine because in there heart they know it is true, they don't want to believe it though so they are offended by it, and start attacking. What do any of you have against the phrase "God hears your prayers"?

No, you didn't. You misunderstand my analogy. I'm comparing the belief that torture is an appropriate response to disbelief (hell) to my comparatively mild request that people not push their beliefs on us.

When did I suggest you threatened to harm anyone?

Report

Did I ever suggest that the poster should be harmed in any way for posting this? No. I said I don't like it. On the other hand, chirstianity promotes the idea that eternal torture is a just response for expressing disbelief in something. Again your comparison does not apply.

"Every time Christianity is brought up in my presence I find it rude."

Sorry, but you will have to learn that there are other opinions than yours.

"This disgusting attack on the freedom of all free thinkers"

Isn't that what these comments are?

"Am I wrong then to say I don't want to hear preaching from a school of thought that teaches that it's righteous for people to suffer eternally for disagreeing with them?"

No, you are free to not hear it. However, if you don't want to hear it, what on earth are you doing reading the comments?!

How dare you make assumptions about what I believe. I would never believe your farcical nonsense. I'm sorry I had to put it that way, but you've really pissed me off by implying that I'm in some sort of rebellion against your imaginary friend. Since you feel it's all right to tell others what you think they believe, I'll be open and say exactly what I believe, so you can stop guessing. I believe your religion is disgracefully ignorant. Science, history, and all other forms of progress have shown for the last several hundred years that the bible is metaphorical at best. I think people who base their decisions on literal interpretation of an obvious work of fiction are dangerous and irresponsible. Every time Christianity is brought up in my presence I find it rude. By your beliefs I would be tortured for eternity, and you would praise this decision as righteous. This disgusting attack on the freedom of all free thinkers is an inherrant part of your faith. Am I wrong then to say I don't want to hear preaching from a school of thought that teaches that it's righteous for people to suffer eternally for disagreeing with them?

Good advice I shall be taking in regard to this thread.

You compare us to swine for not agreeing with you and still try to claim some sort moral high ground? Whatever happened to "Judge not, lest ye be judged yourself"? Frankly your attitude is an embarrassment to your own religion, and if anything I think it acts to disuade people from believing as you do. I know I would never take someone seriously who says thing like that. Now that personal insults are flying, I'm going to bow out of this conversation before it gets out of control.

I agree. However, it is interesting to note the hypocrisy in his speech, and as such I can not blame the replier for being angry.

I feel the same for 'ugly/bad/non-artistic nudity'. The nude human body is not an object of despise as you see it. It is beautiful if not used as an object of exploitation.

However, I am an Atheist and your argument is pointless.

"love your neighbor as yourself", this means love the person, not their opinion. In the end none of our opinions matter, only God's does. If you have a problem with that take it up with Him, not me.

I don't like chats through the air. That's why Wi-FI was invented in that place.

Did the person I replied to not ask me to talk to God if I have a problem? I'm not mocking you, if there is a God, I ask him to please keep his followers in check and leave me and others like me alone! This is an ongoing genuine request from your deity.

And I wasn't claiming that his statement was "material"

He said that religious "material" has no place here and I was making the observation that he must feel that mocking religious people IS appropriate for GNOME-look.

Read the thread before you post.

I see that while you feel the religious material is not appropriate, mockery of the religious is.

Interesting.
