New to themes? create a folder, in your home directory ~/.themes
for example mine is /home/justus/.themes
the dot before themes means it is hidden and linked to /usr/share/themes
Can not find it? go to your file menubar, click View, click Show Hidden
Now, download your chosen theme, right click the downloaded file,
chose extract here, grab the extracted file and drop in your .themes folder.
Then open up your favorite appearance manager and select the newly installed
theme.
There are other ways to install themes but this is the best way!
It allows you to control or change parts of the theme without
going to root and possibly doing some harm to your file system.

You may also consider creating a folder called ~/.icons
where you can place downloaded icon themes and mouse cursor themes

And another folder callled ~/.fonts
where you can place downloaded fonts

Want to see more of my themes? Click on, Other Artwork from IamJustUs
across from the download button.

Right click on screenshots and open in new tab, to get a better view.
Last changelog:

Screenshot 1 shows: Xfce4 desktop with xfce4-panel 4.10.0

Screenshot 2 shows: Old version for reference and blue window surround style

Screenshot 3 shows: IceWM session

Changes: February 20, 2013

Added a second xfwm theme and icewm theme

Fixed panel text in xfce4 panel

Active and normal tab outlines darkened, normal tab shade darkened

Added new pixmap background and set in gtkrc, line 107 just # if you want old

Recolored and resculptured menubar and toolbar, goes really well with new window surrounds, brings a nice unified look to
the whole gtk2 theme.

Redo of entry and spin entry pngs to better match theme

Also after my last Arch rolling update I noticed, gtk2 now updated to let us set entry color of insensitive, (unfocused entries)
it sets it by default to the gktrc normal base color. Threw me a loop as gimp picked it up, and I saying why, are all
these unfocused entries not following my set entry color?
Very nice, I love having more choices, my thanks to gtk2 development team!
So, now we can choose our unfocused entry colors
added in, base[insensitive] =, to the gtkrc for this new setting.
style "entry"
{
xthickness = 1
ythickness = 1
base[normal] = "#99A9BC"
base[insensitive] = "#AEA682"

Redo of entry focus, liked it so well set it as spin entry focus as well

Redo button surrounds made narrower, reset borders

Increased xy for tooltips to give more room between border/text

changed border color of tooltips

changed workspace switcher bg colors for xfce4-panel

changed text color and reset fg[active] to text_color, text[normal] to fg_color. gives us some more zing to tab selection.

azawi,

It is not needed, it is only needed if you bring
in gnome apps which now have gtk3 dependencies.
I use a combination of independent, xfce4, lxde,
apps. that do not use gtk3.
