It's a slow engine; you lose any speed benefit you'd get from Murrina or even Clearlooks (which is showing its age as of late).

Remove the pixmap engine and set Murrine to use full roundness.

pixmap is useful in 3 controls: radio button, check button and range, that the murrine engine doesn't imitate very well... Clearlooks is needed only for the menu widget because murrine creates that strange vertical line that is so ugly :|

Any suggestions to solve these problems are welcome! :)

For the vertical line: alter the xthickness and ythickness variables in theme-menu and theme-menu-item until the desired style is achieved.

For your reasons of using pixmap: Change the "roundness" variable in the engine variables. True OSX style needs full roundness (which I think is 9)

the roundess works well with range controls, but doesn't work with radio and check buttons, which aren't so similar to OSX controls...

I know you can make it look really damn close with some experimentation. So what if checkboxes are a bit sharp? You can make the colors correct if you take some time to experiment with styles.
