Erm, it says its not a valid theme when i try to make it my default theme.

I think you can just untar, then 'cp -R ./theme/* /usr/share/gnome-shell/theme/'

this will overwite the images that are there currently, applying the theme.

... It works, I just tried it.

Would be better if it was packed as a theme though.
