This is a Metacity theme based on the Homosapien mockup done by 0rAX0.
This theme now has a online customization tool (called Customizer - link below) that allows you to tweak the theme to *your* liking which you then download and install.
A special thanks to 0rAX0's for his amazing mockup, without it I wouldn't have been able to do this.
See 0rAX0's original mockup at http://0rax0.deviantart.com/art/Homosapien-mockup-152444481
P.S. Made for use with the Human theme.

v0.1
Created Customizer
The Customizer is an online customization tool that allows you to tweak the base Homosapien theme to *your* liking which you then download and install.
Want a smaller titlebar or how about a bigger one... no problem.
Want the menu icon to be that orange dot again or maybe just stick with the application icon... no problem.
Want to define the theme color independent of your system/gtk color or maybe just stick to matching your system/gtk color... no problem.
Hate those rounded bottom corners... no problem just turn them off.
If there is enough interest I'll look at adding more options like:
- buttons on the left like osx
- switch between different sets of buttons
- add a colored border (like the Homosapien 2 mockups)
- your suggestions
Please let me know what you think by adding a comment below.

I have a constructive critic: if you made it a few pixels thinner it would look nicer (in my opinion).

* The bottom rounded corners are unnecessary, I feel. For one thing they require the workaround of making the bottom border thicker, which also misaligns the resize dimples in the lower-right corner. Most themes have square bottom corners, and I think this is pretty standard for those reasons.
* The resize dimples in the lower-right corner are barely visible. They should be made more obvious somehow.
* On maximized windows, the buttons and window title become vertically un-centered.
* It took me a while to notice, but a window's program icon is given up as the control menu in favor of that orange dot. While the orange dot looks nice, I think it is more informative -- and certainly people are more used to it -- to have the program icon there.
* The min/max/close buttons don't look right when one of them is missing. For instance, try to close a document in gedit without saving it. The Save dialog box only has a close button, and with square corners on the left, this looks unfinished. I don't know how this problem can be solved easily.
* The maximize button remains a plus sign when the window is already maximized. This is misleading and confusing. It may be smarter to use a square for the maximize/restore button, as that has become pretty standard.
* For usability purposes, I think the symbols in the min/max/close buttons should maybe have a bit more contrast. Obviously some of the previous default Ubuntu themes have erred too much on the side of usability, resulting in too heavy contrasts and bulky text shadows -- but the Homosapien button symbols are really pretty faint at the moment.
* While I like the "flatness" of the titlebar, I think there's something about it that will turn the average person off. It looks unfinished, somehow, and also so dark that it's almost black. It might be worth exploring some ways to add a subtle, subtle gradient or other flourish to it. Anything that creates the illusion of a bulge or a glossy highlight tends to give the titlebar a "heavy" feeling, in my opinion, and I like the "lightness" that this theme has. But something to give the titlebar a little texture might improve the look of this theme greatly.
* Finally, and with a bit of irony, I would suggest not taking every suggestion you get into account. Too many competing ideas and you end up with something inconsistent at best, and several "forks" of the same theme at worst. You don't have to please everybody.
Thanks for your work on this, I'm really excited about where this is headed.

* Rounded corners - I'm not a fan of rounded bottom corner either but I've added them as a few people have asked.
* Resize dimples - these are drawn by your selected GTK theme (ie the "Controls" tab not the "Window Border" tab).
* Uncentered buttons - I'm not seeing that. The buttons look centered to me. Got a screenshot?
* Menu button - I agree and I've replaced the orange dot with the applications icon.
* Missing buttons - Fixed in the latest version but not if your using compiz, try using metacity and see the difference :-)
* Maximize button should toggle - Agreed. It's on my todo list.
* Buttons contrast - In the latest version(s) I've done some work on this. Is it enough?
* Flat titlebar - I've added a slight gradient to the titlebar in the latest version so hopefully that helps?

Personally, I would very much prefer if the titlebar of inactive windows simply blended in with the window background as they do in the Human theme and many others. This would reduce visual noise on the screen, help focus on the active window and hence improve usability. And also, it would look sweet as molasses :-)

If I may suggest a couple of more things: I think the buttons in inactive titlebars could safely be fully visible (i.e. not transparent/dimmed). They are discrete enough that thry would not make visual noise, and it would make the desktop look a bit crisper and fresher that way.
Second, I think a discrete gradient in the titlebar sort of like the Elementary metacity theme could give it a subtle 3D look, right now it looks a bit "flat".
These are tiny details, my overall impression of this theme is very positive indeed!

I wondered why mine looked different to everyone else, if you make the font larger you get an ugly border between the menubar and the titlebar which disappears if you shrink the font
Great stuff though, thanks for the quick turnaround.
Looks even better if you turn off transparency for inactive windows in gconf-editor /apps/gwd/metacity_theme_opacity =1
