Plastikthunder is a theme for Mozilla Thunderbird to make it have the same look as the KDE programs with the Plastik style and the Crystal SVG 1.0 icon set.
FIREFOX AND MOZILLA USERS: There are 2 similar themes for Firefox and Mozilla. They're called "Plastikfox" and "Plastikzilla" respectively. Get them at the Mozillux website (read below).
ICON SIZE: The toolbar icons have a 32x32 pixels size. It may be too much bigger under low resolutions. You may decrease the size to 22x22, the default in the KDE toolbars. To do this, click the View menu, select "Toolbars" and then "Customize". A popup box will appear with a checkbox called "Small icons". Activate this checkbox and click Ok. You may have to repeat this in other Thunderbird windows.
BUTTON ORDER: You may reverse the button order so they look just like any normal KDE program. To do this, just install the file plastikthunder-rev.jar instead of the normal plastikthunder.jar.
COLOR SCHEME: Plastikthunder doesn't follow the KDE color scheme. Remember it's just a theme for Thunderbird, so it's impossible to do it. It's made with the 'Plastik' color scheme. If you want to change the color scheme you'll have to modify the theme manually. :(
Please report bugs to 'vfernandez at polinux dot upv dot es'.
Thanks to Everaldo for his Crystal SVG icon sets. You can get them at:

HOW TO INSTALL
-------------------------------------
ATTENTION: If you're upgrading from an older version uninstall it before installing this new one.
After downloading the file, unzip it with your favorite compressing tool. A directory will appear with two .jar files.
Open Thunderbird and go to Tools - Themes. Click "Install". Now browse to that directory and choose one of the two .jar files. If you want to use the reverse button order feature, select plastikthunder-rev.jar. If not, select plastikthunder.jar.
Now the theme should appear on the list. Select it and click "Use". Restart Thunderbird and enjoy it. :)

No guarentees but it works for me - I wouldn't recommend doing this too many times when Thunderbird updates because things could change and the theme could break.

You have to edit de install.rdf file, that's in the .jar file, and change the "maxversion" field.
That's all...
enjoy!

- Did you try with the other .jar?
- Have you installed only one of them or both at the same time?
- Have you made a ' find ~/.thunderbird -name "*plastikthunder*" ' to make sure the theme gets installed in your profile?
- Which version of Thunderbird are you using?
- And what distribution?
- Did you install Thunderbird from mozilla.org or an official source, or did you use the version that comes packaged with your distro?
I have tried the theme both in Thunderbird 0.8 and 0.9 and it worked perfectly for me. So I don't know what could be the source of the problem. Perhaps with that info I could guide you to make it work or, if there's any bug, catch it and fix it.
Good luck!

Keep it up Victor! I can't say how much I appreciate your work.
BTW It works fine for me with 0.9, thought it did crash out once, not sure if its related.

Thanks for making it and hopefully you stick with it to iron out all the bugs and make it completely compatible for v0.9
Awesome job :)

FF had lots of headaches due to the build number changing with themes and extensions so I assume thats what is happening here.
I tested your theme with a recent nightly (labelled 0.8+) and it worked but it is completely unsupported in v0.9, bummer. Just wanted to let you know and thanks again for the development of a nice theme so I dont have to look at the ugly default for to much longer.
