Description:

Well, here I go again...

This is simply a "Windows XP - Royale" makeover of my dapper...

Im looking 4ward to reading all of those "windows suks... you suck... linux rules" post... or maybe im just being sarkastik...

Anyway here it is complete with compiz theme, kbfx button+theme+kicker, icons and last but not least a K-Theme...

Enjoy and feel free to drop a line or two...

(Im not really happy about the KBFX theme, so if you feel up to it, please try to make it better)

Hi,
I've untar the tarball file like usual and the in the kdm Theme Manager, I've installed the .kth file. The theme has been successfully installed. I can select it but except the background and the font style/size, nothing else change.

Window look, start bar, etc...

Where am I wrong ?

You cats Flame away at the artwork posted here. But at the same time your ranting it, your burning bandwidth downloading it to probably use it anyay. The most popular question ive seen on here is why copy windows. Well, let me fill you porch monkey's in on real world activities. Windows occupies 92% of the world OS market. Linux is dieing. The only way we will ever get linux on the upside is to make it look and function like something its not. Fedora, linspire just to rattle some names off are distros doing exactly that. Making linux more vanilla and easier to use. So my advice to you is this. Unistall linux and migrate to Windows. Because the linux comunity doesnt have room for mindless retards that hide behind a computer and play the "I have a bigger net dick' game. Linux was built on presteige and security. The abram tank. So with all that in mind, why dont all you flames migrate, or goto a site like themexp and dog on their artwork, cus this community needs are the eye candy it can get.

Let me fulfill your request: windows suks... you suck... linux rules!
lol. Just kidding. Theme looks very nice. However I still find making linux look like windows a bit weird...

I have to admit, I like the look of the Royale style. In trying to recreate it in KDE I happened to use the same KDE style you did: Polymer/Polyester (at least it looks like you're using it). I wouldn't go so far with KBFX and icon themes and the like, but you did quite a job copying the look.

I get both sides of this argument. On the one hand you have the people who say that everything in KDE should be imaginative, inventive and original. On the other hand you have the people who want a standard look and feel, with all of the other options that Linux offers. I'm on the fence. I tend to gravitate towards themes that are original, but I understand why a theme such as this deserves merit. If for no other reason, it prooves that Linux can be just as usable as Windows, thereby adding to the argument the Linux is better than Windows. Try and skin windows to use a KDE theme.

But... I can't seem to find the reason on why people want to turn their desktops into something that looks like Windows (C, R, TM.... and the rest of all their patent numbers.....).

By this I'm not saying that this or that is better than the other, I'm just trying to figure out why on earth you want to make enimies by writing stuff like "looking 4ward to read all of those jada jada...". For me it sounds like You just want to have angry kde users spaming your contents with "i hate windows".

Please try to be mature and dont beg for people to enlighten you how much they hate windows or that linux based systems is better than the other. It doesn't make this place better.

This place is for eyecandy made for GNU systems running KDE/GNOME/XFCE. Not for something that is ripped by an OS created and sold by a company that cant stand one bit of competition.

And by the way... Alot of the looks in your screenies are copyrighted property of Microsoft.

But don't mind me... I'm just one of the guys that tells you that "Windows sux and linux is better"...

As far at this being a rip and those users who post negative comments, sit down before you hurt yourself!. Personally, I was looking for something exactly like this because I am a linux user trapped in a windoze corperate network and to have my station usable by someone who is more of a windoze user, the theme alone works miracles. That is to say, most windoze users are afraid of something they don't understand. Hats off to the author!
