PerturbedPenguin's Compiz settings
Source (link to git-repo or to original if based on someone elses unmodified work): Add the source-code for this project on opencode.net
Upon request here are my exported personal settings for Compiz. You can import them or just view the file to see what I have things set to - I recommend not importing them unless you have a decent gpu with drivers installed - otherwise your comp may screech to a halt. ;) I also recommend backing up your own settings before importing mine so when you decide you do not like my style you can more easily switch back to your own.
I use these settings with my themes Tourmaline, UbuntuFrost and UbuntuFrost's derivatives.
You will likely have to play around with the screen refresh rate settings under 'general', currently I have it set to force 60fps.
I use the 'magic lamp' minimization effect but I always have to manually change some Compiz files so that it works the way I want it to. On my desktop it does not have any waves and looks much more like the minimization effect you would find on a Mac. If you are interested in hacking your Compiz to get such an effect see this link:
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=557491
... and NO, I am not responsible if that hack destroys your comp. ;)
