Description:

Dear KDE Folks,

I have the pleasure to announce the new phase of Crystal Icon Theme that from now on will be called Crystal Clear. There are a lot of changes! Hundreds of new icons, support to the most known KDE games, and a lot of new things. The design style also was improved and updated to be more competitive with the market operational systems as well as the upcoming systems. I hope you like it!

As always I would like to thank some important people:

1- All the KDE users that always have supported my work and make my working nights really worth.
2- Linspire for the financial support of this project (you may not believe, but I have to eat so I keep living).
3- Nullmid, RELIO owner that kindly host online my projects.
4- God, for have gave me life and make all things possible.

Just figured out how to install the window-decoration:

In the unpacked dir, type run:
makefiles -f Makefiles.cvs
and then the usual
./configure && make && make install

Where is the "configure" script for the style/windec? Or what do I need to run to generate one?

Thx,
Friedmud

Love the icons, but how the heck do I install the Mozilla Theme that he has listed? I'm running Mozilla 1.7.12 on Slackware 10.2, and I even have the mozilla theme installer from the moz theme website. Any suggestions?

The Crystal Clear one that's on the same page you downloaded the icons from.

Konqueror->View->Configure Background (it's the last entry in the View menu).

Excuse me if I appear stupid, but how the hell to install this? It does *not* install as per the instructions. KDE will not allow me to install any of the files themselves, saying that they're not valid themes. Tried copying them into ~/.kde/share/apps/kthememanager/themes but that didn't work either. At least provide correct instructions with downloads please, this is a disgrace. Dave PS I did check the download website, and couldn't find anything on it, and the uncompressed files don't have a README or INSTALl file either.

So 9 October 2005 wasn't a good day for you eh? Get up on the wrong side of the bed? Fight with a significant other? Totaled your car?

Ah ha! You don't need to unzip this to install it ya know. All you do is download it to a directory of your choice. Don't use Ark or any other tool.

Open up as per the instructions, and the file will be installed dynamically to the correct location.

It's very very very easy.

I've tried to find some way to install the style. I'm on gentoo and was hoping to just copile it as normal, but there's no configure script. Is there some other way to install this? It seems like the configure script got left off somehow...

I'm using Suse 9.3. I install icons by copying it to /opt/kde3/share/icons then i go to control center to see if the icon theme is in the list and enable it.
This also works with sound themes only the files should be extracted at /opt/kde3/share/sounds

I hope this helps.

Are those "stolen" from OS X?
How about some original artwork?

Report

Doches

No. They're inspired by OS X (i.e., they're in a similiar style) but they're not "stolen."

If I were you, I'd look at who you're accusing of copyright infringement; everaldo's one of the most significant artists involved in the KDE project.

Please, How to change ALL folder icons color from gray to blue ? i mean change the icons from "folder" to "folder_blue" ?

Report

michaeloosh

On SuSE Linux 10:
If you want to have blue folders instead of gray ones just simply right-clik on any gray folder -> Properties -> Edit file type (small icon with screwdriver and tool wrench) -> clik on gray icon folder -> in System icons choose Filesystems and finally find and choose: folder_blue. OK -> OK and that's it!
Good Luck!

BTW this is my favorite icons set!

I like the icons but it would be nice if the theme would allow the use of the KDE color scheme like the default firefox theme does.
